Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you order from SiteBuddy.
Last updated October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you order or use services from SiteBuddy (“we”, “us”). By placing an order, you agree to them. The service descriptions and prices on our website, and any written quote or confirmation we send you, also form part of our agreement.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under it.
2. Our services and prices
We provide website design, logo design, graphic design, SEO services and website care for small businesses. All prices are in Australian dollars. What each package includes is described on our website at the time you order.
For packages that are scoped or quoted (such as Business Websites, Growth Websites, Online Stores and quoted design work), we confirm the scope, price, timing and payment terms with you in writing before any work starts.
3. Starter Website ($199) and Starter Website + Logo ($249)
The Starter Website is a deliberately streamlined website built on one of our proven layouts. It includes:
- 3 pages (Home, Services and Contact), plus a privacy policy page
- Your choice of layout, customised with your logo, colours, photos and words
- A mobile-friendly design with a contact form
- Basic SEO setup: page titles, descriptions, headings and a sitemap
- Page copy written from your answers to our brief
- Up to 6 licensed stock photos if you don't have your own
- One round of changes
- Launch on your hosting and domain, plus 14 days of fixes
The Starter Website + Logo also includes a starter logo, with one logo direction and one round of refinements; colour, black and white versions; SVG, transparent PNG and JPG files; and a website icon (favicon) and social media profile image.
Not included:
- Hosting, domain names and email accounts
- Online stores, payments or bookings
- A blog, or pages beyond the 3 included
- Custom features or integrations
- Moving content from an existing website
Optional extras (when you order, or later): an extra page ($59), copywriting where we write all 3 pages ($99), an extra logo concept ($49) and a Print-Ready File Pack ($39).
4. Payment
When you send us an enquiry, we’ll confirm the project and email you the payment instructions before any work starts.
- Starter Website ($199) and Starter Website + Logo ($249): paid in full before work starts.
- Business Website, Growth Website and Online Store: a 50% deposit starts the project. We build your website on a private staging site and present it to you for review. The remaining 50% is due after you approve it and before we launch it or hand it over. More complex custom projects may use a different payment schedule if we agree it with you in writing.
- Other services: we confirm how payment works before work starts.
Work begins once the required payment has been received. We don’t launch, transfer or hand over a website, including as a launch-ready package, until it has been paid for in full.
5. Your brief and content
To build your website, we need a completed brief and the content you want to use, such as your logo, photos and business details. You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us, and that the information is accurate. We check your website against your brief, but we rely on the information you provide.
6. Timing
- When the clock starts: once we confirm your brief is complete. We email you to confirm, with the date your preview is due.
- Starter Website: your first preview is usually ready within 5 to 7 business days of that confirmation.
- Starter Website + Logo: we send your logo direction first; your website preview date is set once you approve your logo.
- Business days exclude weekends, national public holidays and any closure days we publish in advance.
- Launch: usually within 2 business days of your approval, once we have working access to your hosting and domain.
The clock pauses while we are waiting on you, for example for:
- missing brief answers, photos or logo files
- your logo feedback or approval
- your list of changes
- your approval to launch
- access to your hosting or domain, or a working login
- answers to our questions
- anything else we need to continue your project
7. If your preview is delayed
If your first preview is delayed beyond the stated 5 to 7 business day timeframe due solely to a SiteBuddy delay, contact us and we’ll work with you to resolve it. Time when the clock is paused (section 6) is not counted.
8. Changes and revisions
A round of changes is one list of changes sent together within 7 days of your preview. If you send several emails, we combine them into one round. For other packages, the number of rounds is stated in the package or your quote.
A round of changes can include:
- Text edits
- Swapping images
- Reordering or removing sections
- Colour and font changes within your layout
- Changing where form enquiries are sent
These count as new work, not a round of changes:
- New pages or sections
- A different layout after your preview
- New features
- A new logo direction after your logo is approved
- Changes that go against your approved brief
Our own mistakes are never counted as a change. We always quote new work in writing before we start it.
9. Approval and launch
Nothing goes live until you approve your preview and any remaining balance has been paid (section 4). We launch your website on your own hosting and domain, which must support WordPress, with SSL and admin access. Website-builder accounts such as Wix, Squarespace or Shopify can’t host a WordPress website.
Please share access through the secure method we provide, never by email. If we don’t have working access within 30 days of your approval, we will deliver your completed website as a launch-ready package, and launching it later costs $79. We can also set up hosting and connect your domain in your own account for a one-off $79.
10. If a project goes quiet
If we are waiting on you, for example for your brief or your feedback on a preview, we will send you reminders. If we still haven’t heard from you after 30 days, we may mark the project as inactive and pause it.
A paused project has not been approved or delivered. You can restart it at any time by contacting us, and we will pick up where we left off.
11. 14 days of fixes
For 14 days after launch, we fix anything that isn’t working as agreed, at no cost. This doesn’t cover new requests, or problems caused by changes made by others after handover, such as new plugins or changes by your hosting provider.
12. Refunds and cancellations
- Starter Website and Starter Website + Logo: you can cancel for a full refund before you submit your brief, or after you submit it if design work has not started.
- Once design work has started (your logo direction or website build has begun), we don’t give refunds for a change of mind.
- Business Website, Growth Website and Online Store: if you cancel before design or build work starts, we refund your 50% deposit. Once design or build work has started, the deposit is non-refundable, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires a refund.
- If we cancel a project, we refund anything you have paid for work we haven’t provided.
- Other services: cancellation terms are confirmed in your quote.
- Monthly services such as SiteBuddy Care can be cancelled at any time (section 15).
These rules are subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which can’t be excluded. They don’t affect your right to a refund or other remedy if a service has a major problem.
13. Ownership
Once your project is paid for in full and delivered, the website we built for you and its content are yours to use, and your final logo artwork is yours to use however you like. Some parts of a website are licensed rather than owned, such as WordPress, plugins, fonts and stock photos; these are used under their own licences, and stock photos are licensed for use on your website.
We will only show your project in our examples or marketing with your permission.
14. Hosting, domains and third-party services
Hosting, domain names and email accounts are not included in our website prices. You pay for them directly, and they stay in your name and under your control. We are not responsible for outages, changes or problems caused by third-party providers, such as hosting companies, domain registrars, email providers or plugin developers. If you choose SiteBuddy Hosting + Care, we confirm its details and price with you separately.
15. SiteBuddy Care
SiteBuddy Care is $39 a month, month to month, and you can cancel at any time. It works with your own hosting and includes:
- WordPress, theme and plugin updates
- Regular backups
- Uptime and security monitoring
- Up to 30 minutes of small edits each month
Larger changes are quoted first. We fix problems caused by updates and restore from a backup if needed, and we will tell you before doing anything that isn’t covered. Edit time is for the month and doesn’t carry over. If you cancel, Care continues until the end of the month you have paid for.
16. SEO services
We work to improve your visibility in search results, but no one can guarantee rankings or traffic: results depend on your industry, competition and search engines’ own decisions. One-off SEO packages are paid as quoted. Monthly SEO continues month to month until you cancel. We never use spammy link-building or tactics that put your website at risk.
17. Logo and graphic design
Logo and design packages include the concepts, rounds of refinements and files listed for each package. We design original work, but we don’t carry out trade mark searches; we recommend checking with IP Australia before you register a logo.
18. Communication
We work by email and online, with no meetings or phone calls needed. We aim to reply within 24 hours.
19. Our liability
We provide our services with due care and skill. We are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services we don’t control (see section 14).
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other right that can’t be excluded by law.
20. Privacy
We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
21. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Your order is covered by the terms in place when you placed it.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by Australian law.
